Hotels in Fort William: staying close to Ben Nevis and Loch Linnhe

It is located at the southern edge of Great Glen and was originally created around the village of Inverlochy. It’s on the shoreline of Loch Eil and Loch Linnhe and is close to the highest mountain in the British Isles, Ben Nevis.
Certainly the town has become a base for many who have attempted to try and climb Ben Nevis and this accounts for the wide range and diversity of places to stay in Fort William. Below we take a look at just a few of the places that offer accommodation to those who are visiting Fort William or for the serious crowd who are going to climb to the summit of the mountain.
1. Onich Hotel and Gardens – This hotel can be found on Loch Linnhe’s shore and the private gardens stretch all the way to the loch’s shoreline. As well as having fantastic views overlooking the loch one can see the mountains of Glencoe to the east and Morvern and the Isle of Mull to the west. 2. The Corran Inn – This small hotel is also on the shore of Loch Linnhe next to the Corran Ferry. Which means that Fort William is a short ferry ride from the hotel. On one side of the hotel you have views looking out over the mounts and on the other to the west one has views out over Loch Linnhe. The indoor swimming pool is heated, there is a sauna and steam room as well as a jacuzzio and a fully equipped gym.
4. Imperial Hotel – This is situated in the very heart of the town of Fort William with views again looking out over Loch Linnhe. All 33 rooms in this hotel are modern and luxurious and so can really make you feel as if you are in a home away from home.
5. Lime Tree Small Hotel – This hotel offers the ideal base for exploring the Highlands of Scotland and is located on the outskirts of Fort William itself. As with almost everywhere locally, you will be treated to some truly spectacular views of Loch Linnhe and the surrounding mountains. This contemporary designed hotel has all the facilities you’ve come to expect from modern hotels although housed in one of the towns old properties.
