Gay Resorts – Top Queensland Choices
There are a number of great gay resorts on the Queensland coast. When you are on holiday and relaxing it is great to be in a place with like minded folk. Four great gay friendly resorts in North Queensland follow:
Turtle Cove Resort: This resort won the best gay resort award in 2005 in the people’s choice poll run by Out Traveller. Located in tropical Queensland between Cairns and Port Douglas the resort has a total of 30 rooms. This is a clothing optional resort and it is a private beach. Service has been honed over the fifteen years they have been in business.
Skinny Dips Resort: The resort is just outside the city Cairns and offers a number of accommodation packages. The resort is happy to arrange tourist trips to the Great Barrier Reef and the rainforests. There is a chill out centre with a gym, treatment centre for pampering and a relaxing leisure lounge.
Pink Flamingo Resort: Located at Port Douglas this is an intimate garden ensconced resort. With only 10 one bedroom villas and 2 garden studios personal service is assured. Pets are allowed but children under eighteen are not. There is easy access to the famous four mile beach. There is a massage cabana, an outdoor bath and relaxing hammocks.
Mai Tai Resort: This resort is ten minutes outside Port Douglas in the mountains. It is a luxury boutique Balinese retreat. It has stunning views over the Daintree and out as far as the Coral Coast. Set amongst ten acres of tropical grounds all of the suites are privately screened. There is a maximum of only twelve guests at any time and they must all be over eighteen years of age. It is optional clothing around the pool area.
Sidney as a gay destination is well known, but be sure to include other parts of Australia on your itinerary.
As the tourism slogan says “Tropical Queensland, beautiful one day, perfect the next.” Much of Australia offers a gay friendly travel destination.
