Finding Cheap Hotels In Las Vegas
Thursday, December 25th, 2008 by admin   Subscribe To Our FeedVegas resorts like The Venetian or The Bellagio Hotel are the end-all and be-all of luxury to some. They want the cushy pillow top beds with the feather down comforters and memory foam pillows. They want world-class restaurants just an elevator trip away, bars within stumbling distance and Vegas shows at their doorstep. They want the convenience of in-house spa services and state-of-the-art fitness centers. They may venture out onto the Las Vegas Strip once or twice, but they enjoy the all-in-one amenities of a luxury resort. For others, it’s all about the adventure and getting the most bang for their buck. Sleep will be rare and precious little time will be spent actually in their room, so cheap hotels will do.
First of all, if you’re not fussy about when you travel to Las Vegas, then you can find cheap deals at hotels that are otherwise very expensive, but they just happen to have vacancies. Weekdays are half the price of weekends. The two weeks before Christmas (after the December rodeo and before the 25th) are a steal. Also, January is a good travel time because most people are nursing New Year’s Eve hangovers and paying off Christmas bills. The middle of summer in July or August will offer lower rates too because some people just hate the heat, although the savvy traveler knows that every place is air conditioned on the Las Vegas strip! When you call a hotel, be sure to ask specifically if they have any specials going on. It’s one of those secret traveler hotel tips that could save you a ton; ask and ye shall receive!
It’s amazing how much the prices drop as you get further from the Las Vegas Strip. Finding cheap hotels doesn’t always mean sacrificing quality. Sometimes it’s just sacrificing a little convenience. The Orleans Hotel and Casino is located on Tropicana Boulevard and is just a few blocks from the Strip, but the rates are as low as $51/night! The rooms are spacious with a king or queen sized bed and nice sitting area with cozy loungers and sofas. The property itself has a 70-lane bowling alley, casino, spa, fitness center, salon, bar, wine shops, pool/whirlpool, movie theater, 24-hour cafes and several restaurants. Or you may also want to try The Rio All Suite Hotel & Casino on Flamingo Road, again just steps from The Strip, and with complimentary shuttle service! There are 20 retail shops, 13 dining establishments, 120,000 feet of gaming, an 18-hole golf course and the esteemed Masquerade Show in the Sky, all with rooms starting as low as $60. The Golden Nugget on Fremont Street downtown (prices starting at $63) is just six miles from the airport and offers a 45,000-square-foot casino, a three story outdoor swimming pool with a live shark aquarium, a water slide and private cabanas, a great Broadway showroom, five dining establishments, an international beer bar, a beauty salon, a fitness center and a spa. Newly renovated, you’ll love the modern, marble bathrooms and high-speed internet access right in your own room. On South Las Vegas Boulevard, which is 5 miles down from the Strip, is the South Point Hotel and Spa. It offers oyster bars, steakhouses, Italian luxury meals, plasma TVs, a full service spa, an 80,000-square-foot casino, outdoor pool/spa, movie theaters, bowling alleys and free shuttle service for as low as $50.
If you’re looking for cheap hotels but secretly pine to stay at a Vegas hotel like the Bellagio Hotel or another luxury resort-casino, then you’ll be surprised to learn there are deep discounts at even the nicest Las Vegas Strip properties! You can consider it a reward for booking directly through the hotel website, rather than going to one of the competitive online discount sites. Usually, these offers are very limited, so bargain hunting may require an obsessive love for internet perusing and lucky timing. Right now, The Mirage is offering rooms for as low as $77/night and Chef Paul at The Wynn Hotel is offering $200 in free food for a $199/night stay. The MGM Grand has deals for $79/night now, where you receive a pair of free drinks by the pool and a $25 entertainment credit. Mandalay Bay is offering “Stay three nights, get one free” and New York-New York has a promotional package for $89 that includes a dazzling view, 2 welcome cocktails, 2-for-1 breakfast, $15 off a spa treatment, a $10 Free Play,a $5 Starbucks credit and a 2-for-1 rollercoaster pass. The Monte Carlo offers spa, golf and dining credits with a $69/night stay and the Paris Hotel has offers as low as $79/night. Check out www.visitlasvegas.com for a full list of current promotions.
