Cheap hotels in Majorca offer the perfect winter sun break
For many years, Majorca has been a top destination for sun seeking Brits on holiday. During the peak season months, between June and September, thousands of enthusiastic holidaymakers fill up the beaches, bars and cheap hotels in Majorca. And it’s not just British travellers who enjoy the island’s charms. The King and Queen of Spain themselves were among the visitors this August when they stopped on the island for their regular holiday in the Balearics. There’s no doubt that visiting during the summer months can be an exhilarating experience – particularly if you head to Magaluf to soak up the party atmosphere – but it can sometimes seem a bit too hectic. So for a quieter break in the sun a winter visit is the perfect solution.
Majorca’s ’something for everybody’ appeal has had a lot to do with its success. You’re guarenteed to find something to suit, whether you like beaches, sun-worshipping and shopping, or perhaps prefer culture, sightseeing and fine cuisine. Families, couples, groups of friends, those on a budget, those with money, or those just looking for a change of scene can all find something in Majorca.
In some ways the island offers a tried and tested formula. You know what you’re getting when you go there. For those who aren’t keen to take too much of a gamble with their cash this is particularly good news and the many cheap hotels available help ease the burden even further. In another way, though, Majorca has so much to offer that you could go back time and again and have a whole new experience each time.
The year round temperatures experienced on the island are a definite advantage. Average temperatures reach highs of 29°C in August and then remain over 20°C into October meaning autumn visitors can experience the island’s offerings in comfort as well as relative peace and quiet.
There is plenty to enjoy, from the tourist attractions of the capital, Palma de Majorca, to the many and varied stunning beaches.
Experiencing the island during the winter months away from the peak season crowds is certainly a good way to get to know the real Majorca. You’ll also be able to enjoy out of season prices on Majorca hotels so that you get the most out of your money while you’re away.
